JivaNYC.org dba CHI (Community Healing Initiative) is a 501c3 non-profit organization supporting community though the spiritual, mental and physical health and well-being. Grounded in the 5 tenets of Jivamukti Yoga (non-violence, devotion, deep listening, study and meditation). Through these principles we offer scholarships, trainings and classes to traditionally underserved to become leaders and ambassadors of their communities through mindfulness programs.
Activism is one of the central tenets of Yoga – radical service…and our goal is to afford opportunities in education (yoga in schools), wellness and mental health, animal and human rights, environmentalism and local seniors and kids programs.
In our first year we offered over $10k in training scholarships, $6k in free classes and workshops, our staff have donated over 500 hrs of time through community programs. In the last 13 months jivanyc.org has offered: scholarships for teacher trainings, developed kids programs, contributed teen meditation seminars, senior community meditation and yoga, we have made financial contributions to animal and human rights campaigns as well as climate change initiatives and city services.
For 2025 our goal is to triple our contributions with your support. We are seeking to raise $100k to increase our scholarship fund, to extend and support our local programming and to expand operations over the next 12 months, This includes our goal of $35k going directly to training scholarships for qualified applicants that serve their respective communities.
