yogi medicineman asif ullah
yogi medicineman asif ullah is a writer, yogi, teacher, and modern-day ancient medicine man working in the poetic tradition of his grandfathers. In Bengali, kabi-raj—literally “poet king”—is a traditional word for a medicine man. He has come to understand this to mean a poetic relationship between the story of our body, the stories we tell ourselves, and the narrative of nature and the cosmos.
He is part of the core faculty at Kripalu Center for Yoga. There he teaches and mentors students and yoga teachers, leads workshops and retreats in yoga, creative writing, and herbalism, and conducts Ayurvedic treatments and consultations.
